Requirements

- Grandparents must be older than 55 years of age
- Grandchildren must live in the same residence as the grandparent

What services are provided through our Grandparents Raising Grandchildren (GRP) Program?

- Circuit Breaker / Illinois Cares Rx
- Community Foundation Grant Applications
- Emergency Financial Assistance

This is a source of funds which can be used to help purchase items and services. This assistance is targeted at grandparents with a health and/or safety risk. There are no income guidelines, although low income grandparents older than 55 are given first priority.

- Food Stamps applications for grandparent and grandchild
- Grandparent Respite Care (Camp/Daycare)
- Homestead Exemption Freeze
- Housing Applications
- LIHEAP
- Medicaid applications and re-determinations
- Legal Issues including custody, guardianship, counseling and school
- Transportation
- Medical Insurance - All Kids program
